Obligation to install an anti-fall system against falling persons

Although this has not always been the case, in modern construction it is now standard to place devices on roofs and other accessible surfaces with the risk of falling from height to prevent such falls. Why is it necessary, who has ordered it, and who is responsible for safety?

The fact that workers have to be protected from falling during construction is probably not a surprise. However, the risk of persons falling does not stop with the end of construction work. This is because buildings need regular maintenance, whether on roofs or facades. And it is an absolute necessity that employees and contractors have their safety at work ensured.

In addition to the obvious need to protect human lives, the law imposes the same obligation. Based on legislation adopted into our legal standards as part of the European integration, it is necessary to ensure the safety of construction, inspection, and maintenance activities and those activities associated with normal use throughout the life of a construction. That is why personal and collective fall protection systems are installed on roofs to ensure that workers can safely perform their tasks without fear for their health.

The provisions of Act No. 309/2006 Coll. transfer partial responsibility for safety on construction sites to the contracting authority. Builders (investors) are therefore responsible not only for safety on the construction site, but also for the safe use of buildings throughout their life, especially with regard to the need to safely carry out maintenance, inspections and possible repairs on them.

We offer a wide range of fall protection systems that meet all legal requirements and ensure maximum safety when working on roofs.
